APSSDC plans to set up 6 Skill Development Centre

AP State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC)  has planned to establish Centre of Excellence at MVGR College of Engineering in Vizianagaram and at Vignans Institute of Engineering for Women in Visakhapatnam to Address the need of improving the skills of engineering students of north coastal districts by giving them APSSDC-Skill-Development-Centreexposure to advanced technologies used in companies worldwide,

With an aim to develop skilled manpower to meet the demand of the industries, the APSSDC in partnership with Siemens, has planned to establish six Centres of Excellence Clusters in different parts of the State in a hub and spoke model. A state-of-the-art Centre of Excellence or advanced knowledge centre in an engineering college as a hub and five technical-skill development institutes as spokes.

The COEs give students access to the same technology that companies around the world depend on every day to develop innovative produces and processes in a wide variety of industries, including automotive, aerospace, machine building, ship building and high-tech electronics, among others. An orientation programme on the subject is being conducted for key decision makers of all engineering colleges in Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam, in the city on Tuesday.

Haryana build an Employment oriented Education System

Haryana government is working towards making education in the state employment-oriented and is considering bringing in necessary changes in the system for the purpose, education minister Ram Bilas Sharma has said. the Haryana minister said changes in the system starting from the primary level to the senior secondary level are being considered for the purpose.

“Monthly tests for students have also been introduced to improve the level of education in schools”, he said. Regarding changes in curriculum, Sharma said Bhagwad Gita, Yoga, moral education, cleanliness, road safety and traffic rules are being added to the curriculum to help children become responsible citizens. On promoting sports in schools, he said the government has drafted ‘Haryana Physical Activity and Sports Policy 2015′ in order to ensure the future generation is healthy.
